
Prominent shareholders in Weng Fine Art AG
At the end of April, Artémis S.A., the private holding company of Europe´s largest art collector, Francois Pinault, sold 60 % of PIASA auction house to a group of important people belonging to French high finance. Names include former CEO of Pinault-Printemps-Redoute (PPR), Serge Weinberg, and former French Prime Minister, Laurent Fabius. In addition to Fabius and Weinberg, that PIASA S.A. is also a major Weng Fine Art AG shareholder allowed this transaction to bring in Louis Schweitzer (former CEO of Renault-Nissan), Jerôme Clément (CEO Arte-TV), Christian Blanckaert (CEO Hermès), Charles Henri Filippi (CEO HSBC France) and Patrick Ponsolle (CEO Morgan Stanley) as well. Simultaneously, Francois Pinault committed himself further to Weng Fine Art AG through Artémis and PIASA. With the assistance of this shareholder group, Weng Fine Art AG hopes to see continued improvement in its already strong position in France.
